Berkshire Music School and Kids 4 Harmony (a program of 18 Degrees) have partnered to host a Berkshire Youth Orchestra this fall! The Berkshires has so much incredible talent and this will be an opportunity for you to be a part of a symphony orchestra with your fellow Berkshire-based musicians!

Please see the details below and register by clicking on the image to the left, or the button below, if you are interested.

This program is possible thanks to the kind generosity of Mary Talmi.

Who can participate?

This is available to any students based in the Berkshires ages 12-19. You are welcome to join if you play strings (violin, viola, cello, bass), any woodwinds, brass, and percussion.

Where and when will we rehearse?

We will have three rehearsals at the Berkshire Music School: November 14th, November 21st, & December 5th. All rehearsals will be 6:30pm - 8pm.

When is the performance?

Our performance will be on Thursday, December 12th at a location TBD at 6:30pm. Rehearsal at 5:45pm.

What will we be playing?

We will play a total of three pieces. Attached is “Libertango” - a sample piece of music that we will be performing at the concert. In general, this represents the level of difficulty we will be playing for this concert.

Please find the attached music and review your instrument’s part, and decide whether or not you feel you will be able to perform this music. If this music seems too challenging, don’t worry! We can create a simplified part so that everyone can play a part they are most comfortable playing!

Is there a registration fee?

There is a $25 processing and registration fee and there are scholarships available. Please indicate in the forms that you would like to be considered for a scholarship

Registration deadline

The deadline for registration is Wednesday, November 6th.
